A few small notions can turn your entire kitchen a holiday haven! I’m about the littlest spend for the biggest impact. After all, when I wrote this I lived in a condo, not a mansion. I don’t have room to store a second set of everything just for use during two months of the year!

While I’m bringing back my usual holiday repurposables, I also have a few additions to share this year. Let’s dive in!

Kitchen Cabinet Lighting

These lights aren’t holiday specific, I have them up year-round, but they certainly add to the seasonal mood.

When purchasing these holiday/string lights, don’t think about a 1-for-1 match of the cabinet width. To make the light more present you’ll want the lights to really bunch. Remember, they’re smaller bulbs so you’ll want more to make an impact. For example, on a 10 foot stretch of cabinets I’d suggest 20 feet of lights.

Pro Tip: get these lights in a strand color that matches your cabinets best. For example, my lights in this photo are green, but my new house has white cabinets and I bought white ones. Theoretically you won’t see them at all, but in case they do peak up a bit in some spots they’ll blend better. I recommend this strand of green lights with thousands of great reviews, or these white lights also with hundreds of great reviews.

Provides enough light to get around the kitchen at night, but not so much that you have to wake out of your Netflix-binging daze.

Holiday Kitchen Garland and Lights

It’s simple, festive, can be done low-cost and it won’t be in your way. Checks all the boxes, am I right? (also pictured above)

Want to kick it up a notch? Hang some simple, sparkly ornaments from the garland. Some silver and/or gold sparkly ball ornaments would look great and give a beautiful glimmer in the sunlight!

Seasonal Cookie Jars

This mostly comes from me taking my normal glass cookie jar and making it an ornament display, but I stand by it. I got this jar for $5 at Target last year and is the perfect pet lover’s seasonally relevant cookie (or treat) jar!

It’s not too huge to store, and you can even make additional storage out of it for ornaments or other small pieces of decor that you don’t want loose in your storage bins all year.

Festive 3 Wick Candles for your Holiday Kitchen

Looks aren’t everything – the room has to smell welcoming, too. Merry Mimosa in a festive red jar sure does the trick for this gal (found in the White Barn collection at Bath & Body Works).

And once you’re done with those festive candles…

I talked about re-using 3 wick candles for décor last month but I’m stressing again what a worth-while craft this is. All I did was swap out the three lids that I had fall goodies in, and viola, it was a brand new season and a brand new set of décor. Start cleaning those jars out with this quick and easy guide.

Candles not your thing? Need something more constant that isn’t a total fire hazard when left alone? Boom. I have one of these for each season, my wintery skating penguin included!

Now that you have your goodies, let’s talk strategy. While I love festive, I keep the majority of décor in a few main areas. This keeps the room functional,
