Between Kevin watching videos on fastening the boards and me working through the math, we made a great team for this board and batten accent wall project.

As part of the loft remodel I found a new wall clock, but it’s not quite the exact shade of wood I want for my space. However, it was on clearance for about $30, so I couldn’t pass that up!
I found this barn door and knew immediately I wanted to hang it in our room. I pictured a wreath hanging on it for a pop of color in an otherwise rather neutral space.
Earlier this month I shared my garage entryway upgrade, the centerpiece of which is my DIY Home Sweet Home sign. I made this sign custom, exactly how I wanted it, for under $15. Today, we’re going to dive into how you can make one of your own.
We did it! Our very first YouTube tutorial is officially on the books! Thank you for being here along the way and now with myself and Kevin into the new world of YouTube. Watch how we added brackets to these otherwise un-hangable shelves and added some serious character to this space.
Don’t throw away perfectly functional decor, update it to match your current style.
This piece was an already handed-down hand-me-down. Meaning it cost exactly $0 which is just my price point for DIY projects. I’d been searching for a tall-yet-wide dresser (so our TV doesn’t look like it’s falling off either side) and apparently that’s a tall order. #punintended
If you’re super particular and typically have a specific vision for what you want in a piece of decor, I hear you. I rarely find things that I love 100% as-is. Thankfully, it also rarely takes as much creative talent as people assume to customize items to your vision, you just have to be brave enough to give it a shot. This DIY menu board, for example, took hardly any DIYing at all!
Things looked bleak for my poor, beloved copper tea kettle. Cleaning it wasn’t hard to do, but I definitely had to put some elbow grease into the job.
