Looking for a new, easy grab-n-go breakfast option? Summer porridge is oatmeal’s cooler counterpart, because who wants to eat hot oatmeal in 85 degree heat? No fear, this overnight oats recipe is great even in the cold, it’s more of a dynamic spin on plain old yogurt. By changing out the fruits you add in each time you’ll have enough variety to last you all summer long!

The best part of this recipe is the versatility. Hate bananas? Try blueberries, raspberries, pineapple, mango or any other delicious fruit you do like. Sub ingredients in and out at your leisure for plenty of viable options.

Summer Porridge/Overnight Oats Presentation

While there’s no need to make a presentation of your breakfast, if you are looking to do so, I recommend using Mason jars. The colorful layers of oats and Chia absorbing the other ingredients does make for a fun presentation, and I couldn’t possible judge you for wanting to show it off!

My grandmother used to make and jar her homemade (apples straight off of the trees in the backyard) applesauce in these Mason jars. Since she moved from that house she doesn’t jar applesauce anymore. So, I’m lucky to enjoy these gorgeous vintage Mason jars that our family used to receive full of homemade goodies, which I intend to now fill with my homemade goodies.

Overnight Oats Mason Jars

Need some jars of your own? This quilted pattern set from Target is a great size and is stylish for other kitchen or home uses, and comes with plenty so you can meal prep less often and enjoy your overnight oats more. Or for a more classic look like mine pictured, this 12-pack of mason jars is an excellent choice.

Well, how were they? I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. Did you make any recipe alterations? I’m always on the hunt for new fruits or ways to make my recipes, share your take below in the comments!
